Sol Ruca braces for emotional clash with Zaria at NXT Stand & Deliver
Sol Ruca faces her former tag team partner Zaria in a highly personal match at WWE NXT Stand & Deliver on Saturday. The bout stems from the breakup of their duo, ZaRuca, after Zaria speared Ruca ahead of her women’s championship match against Jacy Jayne in February. Ruca described the upcoming encounter to Fox News Digital as layered with emotion from their shared history.
Ruca and Zaria teamed together for more than a year, becoming regular presences on NXT programming. Ruca captured the Women’s Speed Championship and the NXT Women’s North American Championship during that period. Tensions rose as Ruca ascended toward title contention, leading Zaria to attack her partner on Feb. 3, 2026, at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
Ruca addressed the fallout in her interview. “This match isn’t just a standard match. This is about us and our story – started off as best friends,” she said. “I forced her to be my friend because she didn’t really want to be my friend to begin with, but yeah, it evolved and we accomplished a lot of really cool things together. But somewhere along the way, jealousy got involved.” She added that the spear cost her a championship opportunity and expressed mixed feelings about fan boos she has received despite her usual babyface role.
NXT Stand & Deliver takes place at The Factory in St. Louis, Missouri, starting at 7 p.m. ET and streaming on YouTube. Ruca anticipates a competitive fight given their familiarity, predicting high energy and grit regardless of the outcome.
